Cub Scout Pack 156

Bethel, CT

  • DEN MEETINGS.

Our first meeting will be Thursday, Sept. 17th at 6:45pm in Rockwell School Cafeteria.  The meeting should last approximately 1 hour.  At this meeting parents will be signing up to lead an upcoming meeting.  Please try to purchase the Cub Scout shirt (allow plenty of room for growth), shirt patches for Pack 156, and Tiger Handbook before the Den meeting or Hoyt Campout on Sept. 26-27th (Rankin Sports in Danbury sells these and can help with which patches you need--they also sew them on for a fee).  The Pack will provide the boys with the tiger neckerchief and slide, so you don't have to purchase these.

**Some meeting locations/times may change in the future depending on what we plan for "go see" activities with the scouts.

One parent or guardian should be present with the Tigers Cub at all the den meetings.  This is unique to Tigers because of their young age.   It is Tiger / Parent activity time.

It would be best if you could have the Tiger uniform for the first meeting, but if you have questions about the uniform you can wait until after this first information session.

  • UNIFORM AND TIGER HANDBOOK:

Tiger Cub handbook is available from Rankin Sport, on Route 6 about ˝ mile West of Stop & Shop.

Rankin is also a convenient place to get the uniform.  Just let them know you need a Tiger uniform and tell them Pack 156, Den 1.  They will know what patches are needed and where to put them.  They should get a shirt, hat and belt.  If you’re a do-it-yourselfer, the handbook gives detailed directions about the uniform.   The pack will provide the tiger neckerchief and slide.

It is important for Tiger Cubs to learn the Cub Scout promise. This promise helps the Cub Scouts develop a sense of spiritual awareness, loyalty, unselfishness, self-discipline, and service to others.

Tiger Cubs are introduced to Scouting with one Den Meeting a month which usually includes a project/craft.   A "Go See It" adventure is also planned once a month which can include hiking, trips to museums, and tours.   In the past Tigers have had tours of  television and radio studios, hiking at nearby parks, guided tours of downtown Bethel, trips to the Railway musuem, truck musuem, garbage museum and many more.  The scouts also perform community service. Tigers work on their achievements during den meetings and on trips and receive their awards at the Pack meetings.
